Majors Baseball (5th and 6th Grade)

This is the most experienced level of Cal Ripken Baseball. Cal Ripken Baseball is played under the Official Baseball Rules, with special rules as necessary for the development and welfare of this young age group. The game is played on a 70-foot diamond, providing players with an opportunity to further develop their skills. Pitcher selection is at the coach’s discretion, meaning not all players will pitch.

Teams will typically play two games per week plus a practice on Friday evenings or Saturdays afternoons. Majors teams will play games on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The league includes a season ending tournament.

Pre-season activities and practices begin in March (indoors), with the regular season starting mid-April (weather permitting) and running through the second weekend in June. *No program over Memorial Day Weekend* Inter-town play may require travel to Epping and Newmarket.

Volunteer Expectation: Please note, the Stratham Baseball program and the Friends of Stratham Baseball non-profit, will continue to run the Snack Shack at SHP and there is an expectation that families will volunteer to work the Snack Shack for one week night or a portion of one Saturday. This is a great opportunity to build community, raise funds for the program, and provide a fun atmosphere at the park. A SIGN UP SHEET WILL BE DISTRUBUTED TO FAMILIES ONCE THE BASEBALL SCHEDULE IS RELEASED.
